Cramps basically are the sudden and involuntary contractions that occur in different muscle groups. Areas that are most commonly affected area include back of the lower leg and the front and back of the thigh including abdominal wall, arms, hands, and feet.
Generally, medicines are not required to treat an ordinary muscle cramp. But to speed up recovery time and lessen the discomfort, follow these simple home remedies.
The most important remedy that is needed to be followed is heat the muscle that has soreness with water bag or hot pack
- Cold Compress
After the pain has improved by using heat treatment, try a use a cold compress on the sore muscles to provide complete relief from a muscle cramp. The cold temperature will numb the pain, reduce inflammation & thus resultantly it will help the muscles to relax. A cold compress can also work as a soreness reducing agent by constricting the blood vessels.
- Epsom Salt
Epsom salt is used to treat muscle cramps since ages. The magnesium content in Epsom salt promotes muscle relaxation and healing. Taking bath with Epsom salt once will take care of the problem. However, if required you can repeat this remedy the next day.
- Apple Cider Vinegar
Raw and unfiltered apple cider vinegar helps relieve muscle cramps because it is high in potassium. when the body is Low potassium it frequently tends to get more muscle cramps. There are several nutrients in apple cider vinegar that help control the fluid balance in the body, which also helps in preventing dehydration.
- Yellow Mustard

- Clove Oil
